Refrigerant Disposal

Reliable cooling. Responsible disposal.

Our standard PolarPack® is made of mono-material polyethylene film which can be recycled via store-drop off programs, where facilities and locations exist.

Steps for responsible disposal of Standard PolarPack®

  • Repurpose the gel pack for home use (when possible)
  • Check locally for store-drop off programs that accept mono-material polyethylene films
  • IMPORTANT: Films are not collected curbside and should not be placed into regular recycling bins. It can cause tangling issues at material recovery facilities.

If film recycling programs exist near you:

  • Cut open the Standard PolarPack®
  • Empty the gel liquid into trash can; do not pour it down your drain
  • Rinse and dry off film
  • Bring the film and any other mono-material polyethylene films like plastic grocery bags to your local drop-off location

If film recycling programs do not exist near you:

  • Dispose of the entire gel pack into the trash can or regular waste stream
